Queensland premier urges people to get vaccinated for sake of tourism

Published on : Tuesday, September 28, 2021

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the tourism industry “would not want Delta” in the state.

“I’m quite sure the tourism operators would not want Delta here; that would be catastrophic to the Queensland economy,” Ms Palaszczuk at a media conference on Monday.

“What we’re seeing tragically in New South Wales and Victoria is that people are in lockdown and there is no tourism.
“We look forward to the day when all of Australia can open up and people can be reunited but for that to happen, we need to make sure that people are vaccinated.

“I’m encouraging people to tell your friends and family please go and get vaccinated, it is absolutely important.”
