The golfers can indulge in a vibrant new dining experience at Quinta do Lago from this summer after the reopening of the resort’s main golf clubhouse following a modern and sophisticated makeover.

The clubhouse, which serves Quinta do Lago’s North and South courses, has undergone a comprehensive upgrade over the last six months to put it on a par with the top Portuguese resort’s other outstanding five-star golf and lifestyle facilities.

Undertaken by local Portuguese architects Essencia Architects – the company that designed Quinta do Lago’s award winning multi-sports hub The Campus – the renovation is one of a number of exciting improvements being made at Europe’s premier luxury golf and lifestyle destination over the coming months as part of a new €7m golf investment programme.

Among the upgrades made to the clubhouse, spacious new eating areas have been designed indoors and outside to create a contemporary new look and feel for guests, with the renovated rooms providing the perfect hub for golf groups, golf tournaments and business meetings.

In addition, the outdoor space has been enhanced and expanded, and furnished with a modern, attractive and environmentally-friendly decking area, while new floor-to-ceiling windows have been installed throughout the building to add increased light and deliver improved views of the resort surroundings.

Golfers will also benefit from the installation of new men’s and women’s changing rooms while there are plenty of mouth-watering dishes and snacks to savour on the new-look breakfast and lunch menu, from traditional favourites such as a club sandwich and fish and chips to more adventurous creations like a Moo Pie with Guinness gravy.

Sean Moriarty, chief executive at Quinta do Lago, said: “The clubhouse is an essential part of any golf club or resort, and it was important for us to put in place a vibrant and contemporary design that reflects the modern-day image and aspirations of Quinta do Lago.

“We’re thrilled with the work that has taken place and the final outcome. I’m sure that the new building will become a firm favourite with all our golfers and families, and will add greatly to the luxury golf and leisure experience that we offer as Europe’s premier golf lifestyle resort.”

The renovation of the clubhouse is just one of the many improvements being made at Quinta do Lago this summer to enhance the golfing experience the resort offers to its residents, members and guests.

Amongst the other work taking place, the South Course – an eight-time venue of the Portuguese Open – is being given a major overhaul while the resort’s other two 18-hole championship courses, the North Course and Laranjal, are also undergoing significant maintenance improvements. In addition, the award-winning venue has invested in a new fleet of state-of-the-art electric golf buggies while it has also launched a new online coaching platform at its world-famous academy.

Set amongst 2,000 acres of the picturesque Ria Formosa Natural Park and just a 15-minute drive from Faro airport, Quinta do Lago has been at the forefront of Europe’s elite golf, sports and family destinations for nearly five decades and features a combination of world-class golf and lifestyle facilities.

As well as three 18-hole championship golf courses and outstanding practice facilities, guests can enjoy an array of sports at the state-of-the-art performance centre The Campus, a world-class sports hub designed for professionals and amateurs alike to train and live well.

Complementing the golf is a choice of 12 first-class bars and restaurants that deliver a range of delicious local and international cuisines, with accommodation on offer at the resort’s recently-acquired boutique hotel, The Magnolia Hotel.
