This spring, the new luxury resort of Raffles Maldives Meradhoo has prepared for its guests another, literally breathtaking special offer that no other Maldives resort has. From March 18 to April 17, everyone can enroll in lessons with Bastien Soleil in free diving, snorkeling with a breath-hold without using any additional devices. Free diving is diving for sensations, allowing you to feel an incomparable euphoria from soaring in space.
Bastien Soleil is an internationally recognized freediving instructor (Apnea Total / AIDA / Padi). As a well-known designer and marketing and communications specialist in France, Bastien decided to make a sharp turn in his career and, traveling to Asia, became interested in travel. 5 years ago, he first tried freediving, an occupation that radically changed his life. Professional skills from his past also help in his new favorite pastime – he successfully finds an approach to people and creates collaboration among like-minded people, as well as changes the attitude of mankind to the environment. Bastien has become a respected professional freediver and professional underwater photographer. On his account more than 1000 dives per year and a huge number of students around the world from the age of 12 to 70 years.
The freediving course is intended for everyone, for those who have little experience of “communication” with open water, as well as for guests who have not yet received formal freediving training, although they have little experience in scuba diving. The course will teach you to feel comfortable when diving to a depth of 20 meters, improve and even double your breath holding potential. An experienced freediving instructor like Bastien will help you achieve impressive success even in just a few days.
During the classes, participants will learn the right breathing methods before and after diving, concentrating, attending both theoretical and practical open water exercises necessary for safe diving, and spending two days in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The freediving course at the resort lasts 2 days and includes 2 theoretical lessons and 2 practical ones in open water. During the practical exercises, Bastien will show educational videos and will use different exercises aimed at increasing the confidence, knowledge and technology of the guests before they move on to practical exercises in the water. During the dives, Bastien will be constantly nearby, regardless of the depth of the dive, which will add confidence and, of course, guarantee their complete safety.
Upon completion of the course, guests can receive an entry level first level freediver certificate. To do this, they will need to perform a special rescue exercise at a depth of 6 meters at the end of training.
