Railway shutdown in London, passengers warned of Christmas travel chaos

tubeFrom December 23 onwards till new year planned engineer work will derail trains from Charing Cross, Cannon Street, Waterloo East and London Bridge stations.The wide railway shutdown in major London route over Chritsmas will badly affect London.

 

 

Passengers will have to use replacement bus services or drive on their own. A  major number of students, workers and holiday shoppers will be hit due to the travel delays.

 

 

During the period Southeastern trains caught in the chaos will be operating from the Waterloo and Victoria station. It was reported that the Great Western Railway trains from Paddington Station have been cancelled from December 25 till 27, this will disrupt the travel plans of those coming for the festive break.

 
Other Great Western services will also be affected between 28 th and 30th. The passengers travelling between Liverpool Street and the east from December 23 to New Years will face problem. Almost every major railway will undergo service that will affect the existing train lines.

 
The passengers boarding train from Greater Anglia will depart the station for Ingatestone or Billericay, while the passengers taking the Central Line to Newsbury Park had been advised to use bus sevices.

 
Transport for London services to Shnefield will reamian out of operation and the travellers had to drive home if they wanted to go home for Christmas holiday.

 

 
Other railway networks will also be under engineering works, in Machester the Network rail works will shutdown all lines between Piccadilly and the Oxford Road Station.

 

 
It is expected that London will be hit the hardest by the disruptions, furthermore there will be no service from Preston to Lancaster,Caledonia Sleeper,Norther, TransPennine Express and Virgin Train lines.

 

CrossCountry announced plans for maintenance work at Winchester, however replacement road transport will be set up of trains are diverted from Winchester and Southampton Airport Parkway.

 
Train services to London airports will also travel disruptions, Heathrow Express line will remain closed on December 23 till December 29. The Gatwick Express service between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport is expected to be reduced to a train every half hour while the Heathrow Connect will completely shutdown.

 
From December 23 to New Year’s Day there will be no service from Coulsdon South, Merstham, Redhill Reigate, Earlswood, Salfords or at stations between Redhill and Tonbridge.

 
There will be no services of Southern trains after 8 pm on Christmas Eve and the services are expected to resume until, December 27.

 

 

Southern trains will stop altogether after 8pm on Christmas Eve and will not resume until December 27.
The Thameslink service will shutdown from December 23 to New Year’s Day.
