Before World Tourism Day, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot asked people of the state to follow the spirit of Atithi Devo Bhava and welcome tourists, keeping in mind the traditions of the state popular for its rich heritage, colorful culture and engaging music and art.
The CM said that promotion of tourism will not only create more jobs, but also keep alive the state’s heritage and culture.
Jaipur, the ‘Pink City’, witnessed various events to celebrate World Tourism Day. A seminar organized by the UNWTO was held in the city. However, besides the celebrations, events and workshops, a protest by employees of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) was also held.
