The Rajasthan government along with its tourism department is thinking of innovative ways to generate interest in the destination among prospective travelers after the pandemic, who are considering special and experiential tours.

Due to this, the government of Rajasthan is musing on opening a few destinations for “night tourism”. This was said byUsha Sharma, the Chief Secretary of the state. She said this while speakingto the industry stakeholders during the second Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart 2022 held at Jaipur.

Sharma said that the project could be implemented at handpicked destinations before executing to the entire state. She said that in the last few years, Rajasthan has developed a lot, and it is high time that they think outside the box when it comes to tourism.

Earlier, Sharma held significantduties in the tourism and culture departments at the Center. She said that Rajasthan has been gifted with several historical and UNESCO heritage sites. However, the state has not been able to exploitthose advantages. The tourism economy of the state needs proper branding and marketing.

Rajasthan has huge potential regarding tourism. The state needs to formulate a road map for branding and marketing the place for a minimumterm of 10 years. Sharma said that the branding, advertising and good packaging of the destination is extremely vital in tourism. There are countless unknown destinations in Rajasthan which need to be appropriately mapped.
