The Rajasthan government is taking steps for boosting khadi and offer amenities and inducement to workers involved in handiwork.
The Rajasthan state government will create a Khadi Plaza in Jaipur. The mall will help in promoting khadi products and make easy for the weavers of the state to display and publicize their products.
Rajiv Arora, the chairman of the Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation (RSIC) said that technical consultants have been roped in for refurbishing the Rajasthali complex and turning it into a center of attraction for tourists.
Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan has permitted the rough copy of the “Khadi Workers Economic Incentive Scheme”. Along with this, he has approved Rs. 9 crore for supporting workers in 2022-23. With this sanction, more than 20,000 khadi workers from Rajasthan will receive payment.
As part of this plan, khadi spinners and weavers will get inducements per square along with the rates set by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission consistent with the price chart.
Excluding this, workers occupied in khadi organizations and societies will receive an inducement per square meter on the items created by these types of organizations and societies. A sum of Rs. 36 lakh will be allocated for the production of software, computer operators, among others as well as data entry.
The Khadi and Village Industries Commission will request submissions from workforce via khadi institutions and committees. The inducement will be transferred straight to the bank account of the recipient.
