Rajasthan Tourism is taking part in the International Travel Bourse, the world’s largest tourism trade fair, which is underway in Berlin with an emphasis on the European market.

According to Gayatri Rathod, Principal Secretary (Tourism), around 65 percent of European tourists attending the worldwide tourism circuit visit Rajasthan.

“Rajasthan tourism has a unique identity on the international tourism map. It is the endeavor of the tourism department that the tourists coming here return with an indelible impression and memories of Rajasthan. In such a situation, the tourism department is constantly motivating tourists to come to Rajasthan in maximum numbers through innovations,” she said.

In the presence of the state tourism delegation, Indian Ambassador to Germany P. Harish and Union Tourism Secretary Arvind Singh inaugurated the Rajasthan Tourism Pavilion in Berlin on March 7.

The Indian Ambassador and the Union Tourism Secretary were greeted in traditional Rajasthani customs on behalf of the state tourist team.

The Rajasthan team is being led by Gayatri Rathore, Chief Secretary, tourist department. Other participants include Joint Secretary Rajesh Sharma and tourism department officials.

The tourism department’s major goal is to attract more and more European tourists to Rajasthan.

The Palace on Wheels, a luxury tourist train developed by the Indian Railways in collaboration with the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation to boost tourism in the desert state, has piqued the interest of international tour and travel companies.

A Rajasthan tourism display has also been put up in the state pavilion at ITB. Tourism officials are attending more than 30 business-to-business meetings in Berlin.
