Rajasthan remains one of the most popular tourist destinations for overseas tourists, reaching out to international tour operators and travel agencies at the World Travel Market (WTM) expo in London. Be it ‘Palace on Wheels’, heritage and culture tourism or wildlife, the state has by tradition been a great attraction for foreign tourists.

The UK is one of the top three primary source markets for Rajasthan. To reconstruct and invigorate the marketing activities after the damaging impacts of the pandemic, the Rajasthan tourism department is taking part in the London Travel Mart.

Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, said that the state tourism team is led by Director Tourism Rashmi Sharma.

Rathore said that in the last few years, the tourism department has improved with added intensity, along with new experiences like adventure, desert and eco-tourism. The department is eager to uphold these new themes in the international market along with the established ones.

WTM London is an assembling of major tour operators and travel agencies from around the world. It presents an opportunity to create new networks and publicize the destinations for travelers from abroad.

The Rajasthan government has announced Rs. 400 crore for advertising and marketing of tourism. Taking part in expos, both domestic and overseas and organizing road shows in important markets are among the strategies that the department has implemented. The focus is also on digital marketing. The government has joined hands with top organizations to promote the state’s tourism experiences by inviting bloggers and vloggers as chief influencers.
