Ramappa Temple in Telangana to get enlisted in Kakatiya tourism circuit

B Vinod Kumar, the Telangana Planning Board Vice Chairman, has recently declared seven monuments, including the Ramappa temple, which would be included under the Kakatiya Tourism Circuit. It’s a three-day package for domestic as well as international tourists. Kumar on Tuesday stated that under the circuit, the Bhuvanagiri Fort, Yadadri Temple, Thousand-Pillar Temple, Warangal Fort, Laknavaram Temple, Sammakka Sarakka shrine and Kaleshwaram would be included. This includes travel, food and accommodation services.


On Tuesday, Kumar offered his prayers to Lord Rudreshwara at the Ramappa Temple in Palampet, together with Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud, Women, Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod, Panchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao, MP M Kavitha, and others. He while addressing the media said that the Tourism Department was also having plans to do up all Haritha hotels in the coming days.


While talking about the development of Ramappa Temple, Srinivas Goud mentioned that for the temple, Rs. 3 crore had been spent in the last three years by the ASI and that the department was expecting Rs. 15 crore more in the days to come.


He promised that proposals would be sent to the Telangana state government to obtain maximum funds for Ramappa site development. Goud has also urged the Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, G Kishan Reddy, to declare `250 crore from the Centre for the development of the heritage site. Dayakar Rao said that 27 acres of land which was under the ownership of Telangana State Seeds Development Corporation in Palampet needed to be transferred to the Tourism Department.
