As per the information from Bookaway Group, the leading aggregator of ground transportation in the world, the tourism industry of Croatia is all set to witness a bumper summer season 2022. The boost up is evident from the huge number of tickets sold by the Croatian operators but also pinpoint traffic examination from all over its portfolio of consumer-facing brands.

Like majority of tourism markets, the internal and inbound travel market of Croatia has revived in the last quarter of 2021. However, the sector went through a breakdown at the start of the year because of omicron before getting better properly.

The volume of tickets sold in January 2022 declined by almost 32% compared to December 2021. However, after that, it’s been climbing month-on-month. In April, the selling of tickets were 139% ahead of March, which on February was 45% up.

Site traffic examination discloses a triple-digit rise in interest in Croatia, mainly from the prominent tourism markets like Germany. In the Balkans, GetByBus brand is the market leader and also has a wide-spread existence outside the province. Between March and April, searches by Germany users across the site increased by 135%.

In the region, at present, the most popular cities for travel are Hvar, Split, and Dubrovnik. The most popular routes are Hvar to Split, Dubrovnik to Hvar, and Dubrovnik to Split. Buses and ferries were the most preferred modes of transport, with 66% of bookings for buses and ferries for 23.5%.
