The Australian Hotels Association (WA) has welcomed the record-setting visitor spending in WA in 2022, with the state’s hotels and hospitality sites straightaway reaping advantage from a robust after pandemic recovery.

Bradley Woods, the CEO of AHA(WA) has said that in spite of the record expenditure by tourists last year, data from latest sources display that there are still substantial scopes for growth in the future, once airline capacity gets better and traditional destination markets recover.

Mr. Woods said that after the reopening of borders last year, WA’s tourism segment has recovered quickly, which is indeed exceptional news for all the hoteliers, publicans, restaurateurs and their employees in WA.

Mr. Woods added that in late 2019, WA loved the influx of tourists from inside the state and overseas; hence, I is comforting to witness that the state is on its pat to go back to those levels once airline capability gets better and airfare rates stabilizes.

Data now shows the combined efforts by the state and federal governments, along with tourism WA and tourism Australia to make sure that tourism, lodging and hospitality division can come back stronger after lengthy border shutdowns.

The emphasis on acquiring a succession of major happenings has provided a great lift for WA’s hotels, with hotels in Perth frequently witnessing the highest levels of occupancy in Australia in the current times.
