Rising crime on international tourists is expected to decline SA tourism

download\ccording to the South African Tourism Industry, the nation is probably to go through a decline in terms of the visitor numbers from the Netherlands post the robbery mishap that took place in the month of September in the district of Fourways, northwest of Johannesburg.

 

The Dutch visitors were anticipated to be in South Africa for a period of twenty two days. However, they had to lessen their stay after the mishap that took place on their way from the OR Tambo International Airport to their hotel.

 

Sisa Ntshona, Tourism SA CEO while speaking in Parliament explained that such thing creates negatively effect on other markets also.

 

“Even now, German market, they starting to pick up these incidents of those Dutch tourists. China, we are still under pressure because China, the narrative there is that we are not too kind on Chinese tourists. So, we forget them. So, we’ve got all these things. We can do all we want to market, but it takes these things that just kind of spiral us out to slip back again. We will definitely see a drop in our Netherlands market; that I can assure you.”
