A group of 40 Chinese tourists were attacked and robbed in Paris by four suspects who had been armed with tear gas as per the embassy of China.
This tour group had just returned from a shopping spree in the French capital around 8.20 p.m. on Thursday evening.
However when they made it to the back of the car parking zone of the Kyriad Hotel a gang of robbers suddenly appeared and sprayed tear gas on them. Thereafter the group ran away with nine shopping bags filled with luxury items, as per a leading news media agency of China.
One of the works of Kyriad Hotel told a media that screams were heard and upon looking outside the window two people were observed assaulting a Chinese guide and others had been using tear gas against the tourists.
The person went on to add that most of the tourists were terrified after this incident and requested the person to hide their bags.
It is yet to be clear if the tourists were injured. But then it is believed that two of the group complained about sickness prior to returning to China the next day. The Chinese Embassy got in touch with the authorities in France and urged them to nab the suspects.
It has also advised Chinese travellers to remain extremely cautious after the attack on Thursday and elaborated the security situation in France as being ‘grim’.
The Chinese Embassy then mentioned that the region of greater Paris has reported a series of violent muggings and attacks against Chinese tourists and Chinese-French.
In Paris the police have already launched a fresh investigation.
One of the reports of a leading local news media agency of China confirmed that currently an investigation is under process to determine the cause of the attack.
The incident comes a year after Chinese tourists confronted with an attack in Aubervillers located in northern Paris in August 2016.
