Brazil is returning to travelers’ itineraries this year, with airline influxes displaying a robust summer recovery.
The largest country in South America witnessed 23,577 flight arrivals through July, exceeding airline arrivals for the whole of 2020, according to Brazil’s tourism agency officials at Embratur.
Brazil’s 2022 year-to-date aggregate also matches over 70 percent of airline visitors registered during the same period before the pandemic in 2019. Brazil’s 3,751 flight arrivals in July this year are equal to 72.3 percent of Brazil’s July 2019 airline capability.
This year, Brazil’s visitor totals have already exceeded the 22,353 arrivals witnessed during the entire period of 2020.
Silvio Nascimento, Embratur’s president said that they are working hard to uphold Brazil in specific markets, and arrange meetings with airlines to grow the number of flights. He said that considering all problems, including the price of airline tickets and strikes, they are continuing the recovery situation. This reflects that Brazil is on the right path.
Brazil’s air arrivals declined 1.4 percent in July this year compared to June. However, it remained in agreement with an overall growth in international flights compared to the same month of 2021, opined the officials at Embratur.
International entrances are under 2019 figures before the restrictions for Covid-19 were imposed.
Brazil’s tourism revival is also obvious in this year’s traveler expenditure numbers. Spending by global visitors in Brazil fetched $1.23 billion between January and March this year.
