Romance tourism is on the rise in Mexico

Romance Tourism is a competent industry in Mexico that speeds up the economic development of many communities in the country. It helps renovate the infrastructure, improves economy, encourages cultural resources, balances social fairness and supports sustainability.

This category not only covers destination weddings but also proposals, bachelor and bachelorette parties, along with honeymoons, wedding anniversaries, renewals of vows, baby moons and second weddings, family travel and a new niche that is growing a lot with the current epidemiological and economic circumstances, which are elopement weddings.

In Mexico, for years, there are significant numbers of destination weddings every year. While the preferred background for couples are the beautiful beaches, the new generations favor colonial and adventure destinations in the country.

As a result, the Mexican Tourism Board – SECTUR, through the General Directorate of Innovation for Tourism, is upholding Romance Tourism. The organization is not only aiming on destination weddings, but also looking for integrating other tourism products and experiences surrounding that particular moment, letting the fusion of the local inhabitants, contributing to increasing their quality of life.
