With holiday-makers, artists and retirees staying on the island for up to three months as part of an Extended Stay option, Rottnest will become home to an extra 30 households this winter.

The extended stay season runs from June to September. This winter, visitors are able to stay on the island for up to 15 weeks in premium accommodation, with prices starting from $530 per week for a four-bed unit.

Tourism Minister Paul Papalia, “Rottnest broke records over the 2018-19 summer with a four per cent increase in visitors, and we want to continue the growing visitation trend into winter.”

The winter months bring different Rottnest experiences to the fore, with wildlife encounters, unique walk trails, exhilarating surf breaks, and historical and cultural experiences becoming part of visitors’ daily routines.

The Tourism Minister said, “Whether it’s culture or lifestyle you’re chasing, the Extended Stay option is great for anyone looking for something a bit different this winter.

“You can even create a home away from home, with Extended Stay visitors often transforming their accommodation with creature comforts like lamps, rugs and cushions.”
