Royal Air Maroc (RAM) Office has emphasized its commitment to boosting tourism and economic partnerships between Morocco and Egypt, which is part of the company’s strategy to diversify its services and expand into foreign markets, especially in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

RAM’s Cairo office organized a ceremony organized in partnership with airline alliance “Oneworld,” convening operators in the economy and tourism sectors who emphasized the need to enhance connectivity between the two countries.

They also commended the efforts that the national carrier has made to explore new horizons for investment opportunities.

Speaking at the event, Morocco’s Ambassador to Egypt Ahmed Tazi highlighted RAM’s potion as key a player in the aviation sector, saying it has successfully facilitated increased travel between Egyptian and Moroccan citizens by introducing new flights between the two countries.

Tazi added that RAM’s strategy has contributed to promoting tourism in Morocco and creating investment opportunities.

The number of flights connecting Morocco and Egypt currently stands at seven flights per week, and sometimes reaches 11 during peak periods, which “confirms the company’s efforts to bring the Egyptian and Moroccan peoples closer together,” he added.

In addition, he underlined the advantages of RAM’s membership in the Oneworld alliance, which was founded in 1999 by leading airlines, including American Airlines and British Airways.

Thanks to its membership, RAM has significantly improved its services in accordance with the alliance’s approved standards, Tazi noted, stressing that being part of Oneworld will give the company new impetus and open new prospects.

For his part, Oneworld CEO Rob Gurney said that Royal Air Maroc adds significant value to the alliance, noting that the national carrier was the first African airline to join.
