shipDue to Hurricane Category 4 storm named Harvey, all the cruise ships of Royal Caribbean have been diverted from Galveston to Port of Miami, as the Port of Galveston has been closed.

Carnival is giving Carnival Breeze passengers the option to disembark in New Orleans, but otherwise has all three ships waiting for the all clear to arrive back in Galveston.

Royal Caribbean Cruise announced that “Liberty of the Seas” debarked the passengers and embarking new cruisers. It is for the Hurricane, the port remained closed and Royal Caribbean had no choice but to find an alternative.

Liberty of the Sea is headed to Port of Miami and its August 27 cruise is cancelled.

A spokeswoman from Carnival Cruises notes that Carnival is not charging for extra days of Wi-Fi access.

The authorities also opened the free phone lines so passengers can make travel arrangements and touch base with family.
