Ryanair adds 500 more flights that will serve in London Stansted for the October half-term school holiday. This is a response of the airlines to Heathrow airport’s decision to continue the passenger cap till 29th October.
The Dublin-based airline has stated that extra flights at the Essex airport will have the capacity of 100,000 passengers.
Heathrow recently announced that the passenger cap for the 100000 daily flight limit will continue till 29 October. The passenger cap has been introduced to fight the labour shortage in June.
Aviation data company Cirium said that the extension will lead to a reduction in the capacity of more than one million seats, from 5.9 million to 4.8 million. Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary said that while hopeless Heathrow continues to cut flights and raise fares for major families Ryanair and London Stansted continue with low fair autumn mid-term flights.
Ryanair’s chief also stated that while Heathrow continues to cut flights and raise prices for families, Ryanair plans to help the passengers achieve new targets. This will in the long run help the economy to become better.
With over 500 additional flights and more than 100,000 additional seats, Ryanair will support the mid-term breaks.
