The partnership in Cork was launched by An Tánaiste, simon coveney so that Ryanair keeps attracting highly trained professional pilots to support the continued growth in Europe and create more job opportunities.
Coveney said that Ryanair is one of Ireland’s world class business successes, with this announcement the next generation of Ryanair pilots will be trained in Cork and many based in Cork will be able to fly on the routes announced from the cork Airport.
Around 450 trainee pilots with the new 16-month intensive training programme will help the trainee pilots to achieve their pilot license and be able to join the Ryanair Boeing 737 type-rating programme.
AFTA instructors will train them and they will further recruit them.
Ryanair chief marketing, Kenny Jacobs was pleased to announce training partnership with AFTA . It has an impressive track record in training top-class pilots to the highest standards.
He said that they are also launching the Cork summer 2019 schedule, their biggest ever. It will have 16 routes.
There will be four exciting new routes to Budapest, London Luton, Malta and Poznan which will help in cementing their commitment to Cork and the Munster region.
