It was noted that more than 1,000 suitcase were left piled up at the Airport after the holidaymakers gave up hopes of getting them back. Due to thunderstorms the luggage was left in the baggage reclaim post Ryanair flights cancellation.
A notice in the luggage area requested the passengers to collect their baggage from Reclaim Four and re-book flights online or through the app.
Baby buggies, rucksacks and plastic bags were see in rows of abandoned luggage and the passengers were looking for luggage after flight cancellation yesterday.
The airline stated that due to thunderstorms in Stansted on Friday Ryanair were forced to cancel a number of flights. This has caused air traffic control shortages, disruptions delays and cancellations.
The affected customers were informed by email and were advised of a refund or free move in the next available flight.
Ryanair apologised for the disruption which was beyond their control.
