Safety precautions issued ahead of May Day travel rush in China

May Day holiday is expected to see a tourism boom and  the China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has called for enhanced safety precautions during the period.

 

 

It has been suggested for travellers planning long-distance driving should check car condition , licenses and insurance for safe driving according to the ministry which published  a notice on the website.

 

 

As per the ministry drowsy driving should be avoided, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited.

 

 

In southern parts of China the ministry had warned of possible extreme weather stating that trips to mountainous areas, valleys and areas next to water should be avoided in case of bad weather.

 

 

For May Day, participation in  high-risk entertainment activities by travellers should be done with extra caution. Based on the age and health conditions the entertainment activities should be chosen by the travellers.

 

From May 1 to 4 the May Day holiday will last.
