San Jose Mineta International Airport is adding Spirit Airlines to its list of flights. However, few people have said that it’s not essentially positive news.
A San Jose resident said that he had flown on a Spirit flight few times and he didn’t quite have a good experience. He added that if anyone is thinking about the best price, they can enjoy that, but it’s not worth it.
Last Thursday, Spirit Airlines declared its arrival at the San Jose Mineta International Airport together with Mayor Matt Mahan as well as other local representatives. San Jose becomes the seventh city in California to host Spirit Airlines.
Spirit Airlines is considering launching three new itineraries from San Jose this June 7. These are Dallas, San Diego and Las Vegas. The airport authorities said that Spirit is the only domestic low-budget flight at SJC.
John Kirby, the vice president of network development at Spirit Airlines said that they are happy to increase competition with the launching their ultra-low charges. This is Spirit’s signature service in the hub of the Silicon Valley.
SJC thought to add Spirit to its flights list since it aims to heighten the travel experience of the residents and other tourists.
An airlines representative said that the market is changing because of pandemic-related reduction in business travel. This has widened the focus of Spirit giving rise to new prospects to cater to new markets. He added that they expect that this spreading out will lure new travelers to San Jose and lead to increase in passenger traffic that they are witnessing over the past year.
