Saudi Arabia floods kills 12, around 170 injured

Due to flooding from heavy rain Saudi Arabia says 12 people have died and more than 170 injured this week.

 

 

In the area of Tabuk 10 people died, one was in Medina and another in the Northern Borders region.

 

Over the past four days as per the Civil Defence forces 271 people were rescued mostly from the al-Jawf region bordering Jordan. Most of them were also rescued in Mecca, Tabbuk and the Northern Borders region.

 

 

Schools are closed and deserted valleys have been flooded, several committees were set up to assess the damage inflicted by the bad weather.

 

 

The flooded region was visited by the governor of Medinah province, Prince Faisal bin Salman.
