The 11th Jeddah International Travel and Tourism Expo kicked off in the Red Sea port city on Sunday, attracting more than 200 exhibitors from 26 nations.

The Expo was inaugurated by Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, as well as Maya Halfawi, president of the organising committee and general manager of 4M Events.

The annual three-day event, which includes representatives from airlines, travel agencies, hotel companies, and tourist authorities, is one of the main international fairs of its kind in Saudi Arabia.

The expo seeks to link worldwide travel enterprises to the Saudi tourism market, which is one of the world’s fastest expanding, by bringing together important local travel leaders and foreign exhibitors to build new relationships and enhance and deepen current ones.

This year’s edition will feature a diverse range of exhibitors, including tourism groups from around the nation, airlines, hotels, car rental businesses, shipping companies, supply services, and numerous tourist attractions.

Maya Halfawi said, “The exhibition is considered a unique platform that brings together a number of investors in the tourism sector.”

She went on to say that this year’s event will be focused on facilitating more relationships and contracts between participants from Saudi Arabia and other countries.

In an interview to Arab News, she said, “The show not only serves as an ideal platform showcasing tourism destinations but also offers visitors an opportunity to benefit from various packages and promotions on offer exclusively during the event.”

According to Halfawi, the show included relevant professional meetings via a new electronic platform for business-to-business interactions.

Other nations represented at the show, in addition to local companies Saudi Holiday and Flynas, are Qatar, South Korea, Morocco, Jordan, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkiye, India, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, and Mauritius. AlUla was also displaying its diverse cultural traditions.
