Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has been forced to delay the launch of its first ocean-going ship for a second time.

The launch of the first ocean-going ship by Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has been delayed for the second time.

Continuous financial issues at the Uljanik shipyard in Pula, Croatia mainly due to a strike by specialist engine and systems commissioning workers were to be blamed.

Scenic said in a statement that it has delayed the completion of the Scenic Eclipse.By April 2019 the sailing date has been extended, which is an already amended date from late January.

However, scenic has been in constant contact with the shipyard, workers representatives and the government to ensure the completion of the ship as soon as possible.

More than 600 workers are still on board each weekday due to this.

The ship’s interiors and other areas of the final build stage so far saw less impact from the industrial action and is growing at a good pace.

In August this year the 228-passanger luxury vessel with helicopters and a submarine for prime viewing in the Arctic and Antarctica, was originally due to enter service.

Those booked on the vessel will be getting a full refund and 25 percent discounts on future cruise.

The cruise line acknowledged the impact of this on the guests and understood their disappointment due to the change in sailing date.
