Seabourn cruise line recently decided that to cancel its 2020 cruise season, and has confirmed that its three ships will now return until early next year. The announcement applies to Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Encore. It has also been announced that all operations for Seabourn Odyssey will be cancelled until January 15 at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Encore will stay out of the seas until April 18 and May 28 next year. The company mentioned that the decision to cancel additional voyages has been undertaken as a proactive action to deal with the circumstances that continues to evolve from the global response to the COVID-19 situation. Previously, the cruise line hoped to offer guests at least a limited number of departures for the year.
All guests with impacted cruises will automatically have their bookings cancelled and will receive bonus future cruise credits. Guests will also be allowed to request a full refund of monies paid to Seabourn. Josh Leibowitz, President, Seabourn Cruise Line said in a statement that the highest priorities of the company are compliance, environmental protection and the health, safety and well-being of guests, crew and the people in destinations visited.
He mentioned that the company is aware that past guests and travellers are eager to travel when the time is right and informed that the right time is on the horizon. He also encouraged everyone to look at their calendar and asked them to start planning a trip today in order to let the excitement build.
