In 2022, Tourism Malaysia carries on with its second roadshow in India in collaboration with the Malaysia Association of Tour and Travel Agents in four cities of the country. This roadshow will start from 17th and will continue till 24th August 2022. In the city of Visakhapatnam, this roadshow will kick-start first, followed by Kolkata, Kochi and Thiruchirapppalli.
YB Datuk Seri Dr. Santhara J.P., the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, will head the mission along with together with the tourism fraternity of Malaysia which comprises one Malaysia-based airline, sixteen travel agents, two hotel owners, and one state government agency.
Since the reopening of the international borders of Malaysia on 1st April 2022, Tourism Malaysia introduced its first roadshow to all the six important Indian cities, from 18th to 30th April. After that, from 18th to 20th May, it took part in this year’s South Asia Travel & Tourism Exchange.
For Malaysia, India still remains as one of the top market sources. India in 2019, has contributed 735,309 arrivals (+22%). In addition to its purpose of instilling confidence among Indians to feel safe and secured to go to Malaysia once again, the roadshow is targeted to act as a platform for the industry community that would help in steering the tourism industry and come back even stronger.
This is the perfect time to get back to India, and planning for this enormous roadshow is absolutely fitting.
