Seoul Tourism Organization to organize Global Conscious Travel Contest

The Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Tourism Organization declared that Airbnb and UNWTO will aid Global Fair & Sustainable Travel Contest.

Scheduled to kick-start from July 21st, this contest is recognized with the involvement of the UNWTO, formally, as it was chosen to be featured in the Program of Work 2022. It’s a program that realizes UNWTO’s core values.

Besides, global scale contest promotion in the middle of strengthening of the meaning of fair travel under the sponsorship of Airbnb, a company that highlights the value of “Live Anywhere” at the same time sharing the idea of Fair Travel

The Global Fair & Sustainable Travel Contest was conceptualized to spread the value of fair travel. Also, it was introduced to increase the awareness of responsible travel to travelers worldwide. This is in response to the rise in significance and consciousness of sustainable travel worldwide after COVID-19.

As per the results of the Economist survey custom-made by Airbnb, on travelers in the APAC region in 2022, around 71.8% respondents said that they consider sustainable travel has turned out to be even more crucial because of the pandemic situation. In addition, after COVID-19, the capacity of the awareness of the travelers of sustainable travel evolved to comprise both financial aspects with 46.7% and social aspects with 41.3%, beyond that of just the environment, which had been the main aim before the pandemic.
