While holidaying, a tourist who visited Blackpool in Lancashire was criticized for a ‘terrible post’ after telling the seaside town as “hell on earth”.
In TripAdvisor, the visitor posted a review after visiting the area for few days back in September.
The user called lovedogs1234 didn’t hold back on their badly planned resort and criticized about the homeless, police and cleanliness of the town’s streets.
To quote his post: “having spent many years as a kid, i came yesterday to Blackpool. it is in only words, hells on earth. The amount of non covid aware is shocking, it is hell , the main drag from south pier is equally as bad just terrible – i feel for the bed and breakfast folk but everywhere is pretty bad. I was approached with a couple, Fleming [sic] all over the street, and begging, at the grand theater entrance – police did nothing. Winter gardens and their pubs were even worse.”
It also said: “Ok in blackpool words , folk coughing up their guts on the pavement , which amounts to stomach churning flem [sic], it was so bad the workers at the tsb lloyds bank called the police, the people involved just fell asleep on the seat. no one nor the police could nor want to touch them.
“They were so far gone. So why is that bad to comment on. This was directly behind the tower, near the grand and the winter gardens. With families and kids in tow.”
The forum provoked response on TripAdvisor, with many defending the town.
To quote one person in the forum saying: “This is a terrible post. During these times, places like this need our tourism dollars (sorry don’t know the English version, maybe tourism quids?).
“We had a wonderful time, with our children. They really enjoyed the rides and amusements. It’s not Disney world, but it’s very budget friendly and great for families.”
“Its probably hurting because of the massive out flux of travel to the continent due to the rise of cheap airfare.”
