The popular tourist destination of Seychelles has recently announced that the tourists who are fully vaccinated will not be required to submit any PCR test results. This legislation is effectively immediately for visitors over 18 years of age, provided that they are vaccinated with 2 doses with a booster dose 6 months after the vaccine. Such visitors with the 2 doses and the booster shot will be considered fully vaccinated and will be exempt from submitting the PCR test result.

However, tourists who are partially vaccinated or unvaccinated will have to take a PCR test that must be taken within 72 hours or a rapid antigen test done in a certified laboratory within 24 hours before departure to Seychelles.

Travelers who wish to come to Seychelles but had been tested positive between 2 to 12 weeks prior to travel, are also exempted from pre-travel Covid-19 testing upon provision of proof of infection and recovery.

The Secretary of Tourism, Sherin Francis, says that this move will boost the tourism industry in the archipelago nation. The removal of restrictions, and the reviewing of the PCR requirements will encourage tourists to come and spend their vacations there.

Seychelles has also recently eased several other restrictions including the removal of the overnight curfew and closing time for entertainment services such as bars and casinos which became effective on 1st March.
