Shillong’s Courtyard By Marriott Celebrates Yuletide with Cake Mixing Event

Courtyard by Marriott Shillong recently hosted its inaugural Cake Mixing Ceremony on November 5, 2023, marking the beginning of the festive season. This event not only celebrated tradition but also highlighted the hotel’s dedication to crafting unforgettable experiences for its guests.

The hotel grounds were alive with the exuberant spirit of this much-loved tradition, as city lovers, devoted guests, staff members, and associates all participated in this joyous occasion. Prominent figures, a variety of socialites, and influencers and bloggers graced this evening.  The Cake Mixing Ceremony, held a month before Christmas, is a cherished tradition symbolizing good fortune and holiday cheer. Various ingredients, such as fruits, nuts, spices, and spirits, are meticulously mixed and soaked in alcoholic beverages like brandy and rum.

This blend matures over time, enhancing the flavours, before being baked into the traditional plum cake, capturing the essence of the festive season. The event was attended by city connoisseurs and popular figures, which enthusiastically mixed dry fruits and nuts to usher in the festive season. The event featured a high tea experience with tempting desserts like Spicy apple cake, White chocolate & berry macaroon, and Classic Yule log. Guests also indulged in savoury delights like BBQ chicken wings, BBQ pork ribs, and Chicken satay with peanut sauce, making it an evening of pure culinary delight.
