Shinichiro Ito, Chairman of the Board of ANA HOLDINGS INC. was presented with the prestigious “Person of the Year 2017” award by Orient Aviation at the awards ceremony on April 25. This is the second time Orient Aviation, which is the leading commercial aviation news magazine in the Asia-Pacific region, has recognized Shinichiro Ito as ‘Person of the Year,’ making him the only person who has received the award twice.
“It is an honor to receive this prestigious award for the second time,” said Shinichiro Ito. “It is because of the hard work and dedication of our employees that ANA receives recognitions like this. I am very proud of our team and want to thank Orient Aviation for this great honor.”
Shinichiro Ito has been recognized for demonstrating the highest level of leadership, imagination, outstanding business ability and an appetite for revolutionary change. “Shinichiro Ito has led ANA through a remarkable period of growth that has transformed the carrier into a global airline company that is consistently rated as one of the top five carriers in the world,” said Christine McGee, Publisher & Editor-in-Chief, Orient Aviation.
The Orient Aviation Person of the Year was launched in 1997 to honor the airline CEO in Asia Pacific who delivered the most outstanding performance on all levels at their airline. Previous winners have included Alan Joyce, CEO and Managing Director of Qantas Group, Tony Tyler, Director General and CEO of IATA, and Christopher Luxon, CEO of Air New Zealand.
