chineseInformation signs in Minsk have been translated into Chinese to attract more Chinese tourists, BelTA learned from Yelena Plis, director of the information and tourist center Minsk.

The stands installed in the Upper Town, Trinity Suburb, Privokzalnaya Square, Yakub Kolos Square, Nemiga Street, and Nezavisimosti Avenue now feature Chinese-language information. “We have almost completed the work in this field. From now on, it will be easier for our Chinese guests to navigate around the Belarusian capital,” Yelena Plis said.

She recalled that a new section was designed for Chinese visitors in late 2017 on the tourist website. It contains all the necessary information about Minsk landmarks and the visa-free program, and features a video about the capital. Moreover, information and advertising materials were published in Chinese; 14 licensed tour guides offer their services for Chinese tourist groups.

In September 2017, the first group of Chinese tourists came to Belarus on a six-day tour under the program of the Tsentrkurort company and the tourist subdivision of the China International Travel Service. The China-Belarus Year of Tourism 2018 is expected to boost cooperation in this field. For the first time ever, Minsk’s tourism opportunities will go on display at a tourism expo in Shanghai.
