Simone Broekhaar has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing for Patina Maldives, Fari Islands. The property will be the first launch under Patina Hotels and Resorts, a new sophisticated lifestyle brand by Capella Hotel Group. The brand was created specifically for progressive travelers of a new generation. Broekhaar is a veteran of luxury hospitality and comes with years of industry experience.
Prior to her latest appointment, Simone served as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Capella Ubud, Bali. In her role, she led a 9 people team as they developed launch communications and sales strategy for the multi-award winning property. She holds a degree in Hotel Management and has always been passionate about the travel industry.
She is fluent in Dutch and English, and can also speak German, French, and a little bit of Italian. Simone is also a big fan of wellness and keeping fit. She also enjoys theatre and is an avid theatre-goer.
Simone has held responsible positions at The Datai, Langkawi and The Chedi, Muscat, which have each been widely recognised for their boutique and luxury offerings. She has also been associated with international brands such as Swissôtel. She also served as the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for COMO Hotels & Resorts, Bali. She has to report to three General Managers and had to look after efforts for three of the esteemed group’s most sought-after properties, the COMO Uma Ubud, COMO Shambhala Estate, and COMO Canggu.
Simone Broekhaar is expected to bring her unwavering passion and creativity, coupled with over two decades of experience in the industry to spearhead sales and communications strategy in the lead up to the launch of Patina Maldives in Q1 2021.
