Singapore Airlines has completed the retrofit of the first of 14 of its original A380 superjumbo. This aircraft now features the same cabins also offered on the carrier’s five newer A380s, with a total of 471 seats – 343 in economy, 44 in premium economy, 78 in business and six first class suites.
The Airbus said that the retrofit was part of “the wider portfolio of value-adding product improvements managed by Airbus’ dedicated Upgrades Services teams”, adding that it was an example of the manufacturer’s commitment “to keep the A380 flying for many more years with the latest cabin innovations”.
Singapore Airlines was the first carrier to take delivery of the A380 in October 2008, and currently has 19 of the aircraft in its fleet.
