Singapore is set to become a key hub for wind energy innovation and tourism with the upcoming Recharge Wind Power Summit and WindEnergy Asia-Pacific events. This strategic partnership between leading industry players aims to address the growing demand for renewable energy solutions in the Asia-Pacific region. By hosting these major events, Singapore not only strengthens its position in the global wind energy market but also fosters sustainable tourism, bringing together global leaders to drive business growth, policy discussions, and technological advancements in wind power.

A new partnership has been formed between DN Media Group (Recharge), Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) through a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration will focus on hosting a series of wind energy conferences and exhibitions in Singapore, marking a significant step towards expanding the global influence of wind energy discussions beyond Europe.

The MoU was signed during the Recharge Wind Power Summit 2025, held in Hamburg. The event also saw the participation of prominent figures, including the first mayor of Hamburg and Singapore’s ambassador to Germany, who witnessed the historic agreement. This partnership signifies the first international expansion of the renowned WindEnergy Hamburg brand into the Asia-Pacific region.

As part of this MoU, EnterpriseSG and STB will collaborate in the organisation of the Recharge Wind Power Summit Asia-Pacific in Singapore, set to take place in 2026. The flagship event, WindEnergy Asia-Pacific, powered by Recharge, will follow in 2027 and 2029, alternating with WindEnergy Hamburg, which is held biennially in Europe. The partnership is poised to elevate the region’s wind energy sector by bringing together industry leaders, experts, and key stakeholders from around the world.

The events will feature an array of activities designed to stimulate business development and policy discussions, such as conferences, trade fairs, plenary sessions, roundtable discussions, networking opportunities, and site visits. These events aim to provide a platform for sharing the latest developments, research, and technologies in the wind energy field, fostering collaboration between international stakeholders and enhancing the regional market’s growth.

This new series of wind energy events comes at a pivotal moment for the Asia-Pacific region, where wind energy development is rapidly gaining momentum. Countries such as Australia, India, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea, and Vietnam have set ambitious targets for wind energy, signaling their commitment to transitioning towards cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions. The region is already a leader in wind energy, accounting for over 607.5 gigawatts of installed capacity in 2024, making it the largest wind market in the world.

One key area of focus will be offshore wind energy, which is expected to play a central role in the region’s energy future. Projections indicate that by 2034, offshore wind capacity in Asia-Pacific will reach 50 gigawatts, representing more than 60 percent of the global offshore wind capacity expansion. This growth is driven by an increasing number of countries in the region committing to offshore wind projects, with governments and private companies seeking to harness the abundant wind resources along their coastlines.

The collaboration between Recharge, HMC, EnterpriseSG, and STB is expected to drive greater engagement in the wind energy sector, bringing attention to Asia-Pacific’s energy transition efforts and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise. With its strategic location at the crossroads of major energy markets, Singapore is ideally positioned to host these high-profile events and serve as a hub for the wind energy industry in the region.

The launch of these events in Singapore also aligns with the city-state’s broader goals of becoming a global leader in clean energy and sustainability. By hosting industry-leading conferences and exhibitions, Singapore will not only provide a platform for showcasing innovative wind energy technologies but also contribute to shaping policies and regulations that will define the future of the sector.

This collaboration is expected to have a significant impact on the growth of wind energy in Asia-Pacific, supporting the region’s ambitious renewable energy targets and strengthening its role as a key player in the global energy transition. As wind energy continues to evolve, the events in Singapore will play a vital role in advancing the industry’s agenda, fostering innovation, and addressing the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing energy landscape.

The partnership between DN Media Group, Hamburg Messe und Congress, Enterprise Singapore, and the Singapore Tourism Board marks an exciting new chapter for the global wind energy industry. It signals a renewed commitment to sustainable energy development and provides a promising outlook for the future of wind energy in the Asia-Pacific region.
