Maira Omer in March had an itinerary for summer vacation for what she defined as half of the world. However, with continuous impediments in getting visas, she turned hopeless with nowhere to explore in 2022.

On her mind, this Dubai-based Pakistani book editor had Europe however experienced many weeks of waiting to get the date for visa appointment for some countries as others had no appointments left in 2022.

Finally, she took a decision to take matters seriously and made a customized route for her family and took in Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Croatia.

For Schengen visas, in the face of long waiting queue, several residents of UAE, mainly the ones from Pakistan and India, have set their sights on Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. Each of these countries provides visas on arrival to Emirates residents.

In March, Maira said that they were applying to visit many countries due to the fact that constraints had settled down a bit at that time and this year, it there is an explosion, the world opened. In March, everyone was travelling and they did try to apply to explore half of the world.

It first, in May or June, they wanted to travel because that is the time when summer starts here and the heat gets atrocious. They wanted to travel around Europe, however, could not find any visa appointments whatsoever.

The family were told to keep an eye on the websites on a regular basis in case appointments became available.
