First-ever overwater villas in Maldives to be launched

Tourists can stay in overwater villas in the Maldives from April next year. Soneva Fushi, the luxury resort on the Maldives known for its better view of white sand beaches and crystal clear seawater, is going to launch its first-ever overwater villas on the island. As many as eight overwater villas are going to be started by the group. The water retreats will have one or two bedrooms.

Visitors can access the overwater villas by a gently curving jetty near Dolphin Beach. At the opposite end of the island to Out of the Blue dining destination, the eight overwater villas have been carefully designed to ensure the utmost privacy for the guests and this also ensures one-of-the most picture-perfect ocean holidays.

All the eight new facilities will have their own private pool, as well as a curving slide that will plunge directly into the Indian Ocean. The villas will give tourists option of sunrise or sunset views and they will also have a large alfresco deck including plush sun loungers, a sunken seating area and catamaran nets over the ocean.

A thorough environmental assessment was done within the resort before finalizing the design and the location. The aim was to ensure that the Baa Atoll’s terrestrial and marine ecosystems remain unharmed by construction activity besides ensuring the subsequent use and maintenance of the villas.

Like the other Soneva Fushi properties, the construction materials for the eight new overwater villas were sourced sustainably. The low impact overwater design of the villas maintains and complements the natural beauty of the tranquil sea-shore.

Soneva Fushi has many interesting features for tourists. It has one overwater observatory where one can see constellations in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. You can also enjoy an exclusive private dinner on the South beach while you can also plan for Dolphin Safari or Cinema Paradiso offered by the resort.
