In the coming months, Karnataka will be included in the International Tourism Map. This was declared on Wednesday by the Chief Minister of the state, Basavaraj Bommai.

While speaking at a function arranged on the occasion of the release of the revised Tourism Policy for 2020-26 along with the allocation of incentive for the registered tourist guides in Vidhana Soudha banquet hall, the CM said that they all need to raise the tourist numbers to Karnataka from the current 30 lakh to a huge target of one crore in the coming three years. He said that the tourist footfall has increased. However, more international tourists must be attracted to Karnataka which in return will provide jobs to the locals.

The CM stated that Karnataka has the best tourist places in the country which are best for tourism promotion.

He added that the forts of Kalburagi and Bidar are just incredible! All these belong to Karnataka and the state has a big scope for tourism if these assets are preserved as well as developed. He said that they have got all these from their ancestors. He also said that it must be introduced to the whole world. The state government is doing the same of recognizing them.

The CM said that the Revenue, Good and PWD departments of the government must work as a team together with the state Tourism Department.
