South Africa Tourism in UK appoints Sherwin Arends

South African Tourism  has appointed Sherwin Arends as trade relations officer he brings  a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role  and holds  12 years’ experience working within the travel industry.

He hails from Cape Town ad moved to the UK six years ago after travelling the world as a member of cabin crew for Qatar Airways.

In his last role Sherwin Arends served as the senior product executive for Audley Travel.

Arends was thrilled to  join the South African Tourism team in the UK and said that he is very passionate about his birth country and proud of  South African heritage.He was looking forward to showcase South Africa as a leading tourist destination, with a focus on promoting the well-known areas and experiences and helping to uncover and educate the trade on the destination’s hidden gems.

In his new role Sherwin Arends will be responsible to build and maintain relations with key travel trade contacts in the UK and Ireland while utilising South African Tourism’s research.

He will provide insights to ensure that the agents have all the tools and support to confidently sell South Africa

Tolene van der Merwe, hub head for the UK & Ireland at South African Tourism felt ardelighted that Sherwin will be joining their growing team.

He said that Sherwin Arends  wealth of industry knowledge combined with his personal experience of South Africa will be invaluable as they  collectively promote the destination to holidaymakers through the UK and Irish trade.
