From May 2-5, 2022, the South Dakota Department of Tourism will organize its annual Spring Hospitality Training. The trainings will be arranged in seven communities all over South Dakota.
The Spring Hospitality Training series is planned to provide tools, professional development, guest service tactics, and encouragement for South Dakotans associated with the tourism sector. Anyone involved in tourism and hospitality business is requested to take part in the free trainings.
Those keen to learn more about the tourism and career within the said industry are also welcomed to take part in it.
To quote James Hagen, Secretary of the Department of Tourism, “The tourism industry is vital to South Dakota. It provides incredible economic impact and more than 54,000 jobs across the state. Our department puts great value in professional development training and knows that the future of the industry is only as strong as our current workforce and the next generation of business leaders.”
The Department of Tourism has collaborated with a customer service expert and professional speaker, Christine Cashen, to train attendees. Cashen’s themed presentation, “Carpe Chaos: How to Get Along, Get More Done, and Have More Fun!” will highlight on tips to boost energy and morale, the way to incorporate and work with all personality styles, and provide creative problem-solving techniques.
