South Korea making use of K-culture to lure more tourists

Travel is revivingaround the globe. South Korea is making use of K-culture to lure more tourists.
Last year, a total of 2.2 million tourists visited South Korea. The country recorded a recovery of 18 percent compared to thelevelof 2019. 2023 is the ‘Visit Korea Year.’South Korea is striving to make the tourism industry a distinct growth instrument by applyingtailored regional marketing approaches. It is also organizing a series of megaevents displaying K-culture.


Especially, South Korea is thinking to attract more Chinese tourists, or Youke, which has surged 503 percentduring March, said thefigures fromMarch retail sales.


Cho Yong-Man,the Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourismin South Korea said that in order to increase the amount of Chinese tourists in South Korea throughout the forthcoming Chinese Labor Day, the promotion in association with Chinese online travel organizationsis going on since March. The K-tourism road show is planned in Beijing in May.


Visa-free transit package will be extended. Tourist crowds from China coming to Korea through Korean airports and going to Jeju airport are permissible to stay in the area nearby the airport for about five days.


The Digital Nomad Visa, also known as the Workcation visa will also be announced. It would allow high-income non-nationalsworking outside Korea to work and take delight in their vacation in Korea.
