The coronavirus death toll soared past 19,000 on Thursday after another 551 people died of COVID-19, with the numbers reflecting a slowdown after nearly five weeks on lockdown.
Now, the National Tourism Organization in Spain, which is responsible for marketing Spain’s destination worldwide, TURESPAÑA, has launched a video message titled ‘#SpainWillWait’ (España te Espera) across its social media channels.
The objective of this initiative by National Tourism Organization in Spain is to consolidate tourists’ loyalty to the destination by reminding them of all that Spain has to offer a lot more like historical attractions, city walks, and serene destinations and festivals as well . National Tourism Organization also hopes that tourists from all over the world, can enjoy the attractions and delights of the destination once the COVID-19 or coronavirus crisis has passed.
The video looks at conveying an evocative idea of Spain, transporting holidaymakers from their homes and strengthening lasting emotional ties with the destination.
The Spanish tourism minister said they’re still discussing the matter while the (unlikely) best case scenario is that shops and bars reopen on April 26th.
The Minister Reyes Maroto did not rule out those restrictions staying in place even when they allow international tourism to start again.
Speaking to the local media, she said that they have to guarantee, when international tourism opens, that the person who comes to Spain is a safe person.
