Spain will soon be included on the list of European countries that are planning to initiate a ‘vaccination certificate’ that would assist in the movement of travelers and help the tourism sector recuperate from the damages caused by the Corona virus pandemic.
Spain’s Tourism Minister, Reyes Maroto said that the country’s government is working to introduce a ‘vaccination certificate’, which will have the same functions like the ones set to be launched by Denmark, Greece, Iceland, and backed by the European Union Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen.
Maroto said that the government’s support in tourism is extraordinary, highlighting the importance of “transforming and digitalizing” for the tourism industry to maintain competitiveness.
In this regard, Spain’s President of the Tourism Board Juan Molas had stressed that personalization, digitalization and talent would be the key points to assist the tourism industry get back on track.
Spain’s tourism sector witnessed a 75 per cent decrease in revenue and a drop of 20 million was witnessed regarding the number of international visitors during last year.
