Once again Spectators lined the streets of Manhattan on Thursday for the 95th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade after last year’s spectacle was scaled down and closed to the public because of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Macy’s, other cities in the U.S. hold parades, but the New York event has become part of the holiday tradition, televised nationwide to about 50 million viewers before their Thanksgiving meals. The classic astronaut Snoopy appeared once again in this year’s parade, the 9th version of the Snoopy balloon.
As per reports, spectators watch the 95th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Manhattan, New York, USA, on 25th Nov. 2021. There were 15 balloons led by protestors holding tethers, the longest of which was 72 feet (22 meters).
Between marching bands and dancers on the ground, 28 floats traveled the 2.5-mile route from Central Park West to the Macy’s store on 34th street, with fan favorites like the Sesame Street Muppets, Miss America, and the Alien from the rock bank. Like balloons, those numbers may be inflated, considering the entire population of Manhattan is 1.6 million, in a city of 8.4 million.
