Officials mentioned that the growing number of tourists from India in Sri Lanka might come to 4.4 lakh this year.
The officials of the Sri Lanka Tourism stated that it is a destination for all seasons and a record 3,84,628 tourists visited India last year.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau stated that understanding the unique offerings for Indian travellers in Sri Lanka is now targeting 4,40,000 Indian arrivals.
The Sri Lanka Tourism was recently awarded with several awards in 2017.
As per a survey conducted by the Sri Lanka Tourism revealed that 63.7 per cent of Indians opt for sightseeing excursions and nearly 50 per cent go for shopping while 37.01 per cent Indian travellers visit the historical sites in Sri Lanka.
Wildlife was a choice for 21 per cent only.
With 52 travel agents and hoteliers, the Sri Lanka Tourism will be participating at the SATTE 2018.
The Indian guests had already explored the pristine beaches and cultural aspect but the key area for this years’ participation will be film tourism, destination wedding, religious and pilgrimage tourism.
