Concerning the severe financial crisis that Sri Lanka is currently experiencing, the Sri Lankan government said that they will now sell long-term visas to foreigners for a minimum of $100,000, which will enable them to live and work in Sri Lanka for 10 years. The Golden Paradise Visa Program is expected to gather the much-needed foreign currency. There is also a five-year visa for any foreigner, who wishes to spend a minimum of $75,000 and buy an apartment anywhere in Sri Lanka.

The pandemic has dealt a severe blow to Sri Lankan tourism. This led to an economic downfall, with the country facing acute shortages of basic necessities like food, fuel and medicines.

Sri Lanka’s tourism industry officials said that the country is now slowly getting back on its path to recovery. Political instability is also becoming better with political parties coming to an agreement. Sri Lanka’s fuel situation is also witnessing wonderful development. Now, the queues outside the refilling stations are getting shorter, power supplies are gradually getting back on track, supermarkets are stocking up again, and other goods and services are becoming normal.
