The Tourism Minister of Sri Lanka, Prasanna Ranatunga, has said that we all can hope that tourism is expected to return to normalcy by January and February.

The Minister of Tourism, while speaking to the media has stated that in January, he anticipates around 100,000 – 125,000 tourists to visit the country.

Nevertheless, the Minister said that he expects at least 200,000 tourists inflow to the country to return to normalcy, and that he hopes to bring tourists from Middle East and India to Sri Lanka to bring the lost glory of the country in terms of tourism.

From January to December, the Minister stated that roughly 180,000 tourists arrived in the country, and out of that, 86,000 visited in December alone which pinpoints a positive upward trend.
